Dying and death in intensive care from the perspective of students

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou pohledu studentů na oblast umírání a smrti v intenzivní péči. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a empirickou. V teoretické části je popsáno pracoviště intenzivní péče, personální obsazení a role sester. Dále jsem se v této práci věnovala problematice umírání a smrti v intenzivní péči, péči o umírající nemocné a zemřelé pacienty. Další kapitola se zabývá praktickou přípravou studentů na výkon jejich budoucího povolání. Empirická část je založena na kvantitativním výzkumu pomocí originálního dotazníkového formuláře, který byl zaměřen na znalosti studentů, kteří jsou teoreticky připraveni na výkon praxe na intenzivní péči, a zjištění jejich pocitů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of students´view of dying and death in intensive care. The work is divided into theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part describes the workplace of intensive care, staffing and the role of nurses. Furthermore, in this work I dealt with the issue of dying and death in intensive care, care for dying sick and deceased patients. The next chapter deals with the practical preparation of students for the performance of their future profession. The empirical part is based on quantitative research using the original questionnaire form, which was focused on the konwledge of students who are theoretically prepared to practice in intensive care and find out their feelings.
