Case Study: The Adaptation of Theatres in a Crisis Situation

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje problematice krizového managementu divadel. Publikace zabývající se čistě tímto tématem bohužel neexistují, i když je krizový management nedílnou součástí managementu provozu. Práce popisuje metody krizového managementu, hledání a vyhodnocování rizik, a způsoby, jak lze zmírnit jejich negativní dopad. Popisuje, jakými krizemi si mohla divadla v minulosti projít, jak se s nimi vypořádala, a zdali jsou krize minulosti stále relevantní pro současný chod divadel. Práce se zabývá příležitostmi, které se divadlům po krizi Covid-19 nabízejí, jako součást pokrizové fáze krizového řízení. Jakým způsobem se dá krizového managementu v divadelnictví využít je popsáno na případové studii o kontroverzním divadelním představení „Naše násilí, vaše násilí“. Cílem práce je pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu najít krizovou situaci nebo řešení krizové situace, o kterém se analyzovaná literatura nezmiňuje a měla by ho zmiňovat.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis addresses the problems of theatre emergency management. Unfortunately, no specialised documentation has been released on this topic, even though it is a staple part of institution management. The thesis describes the methods of emergency management, the search and evaluation of risks, and the means how to minimise their negative impact. It describes, what kind of crises did theatres have to go through in the past and if these crises are still relevant today. The thesis addresses the opportunities for theatres to embrace, as part of the post crisis management. How can emergency management be utilised in theatre management is shown in the case study of a controversial theatre play “Your violence, our violence”. The thesis aim is to find a crisis or a crisis solution using a qualitative research method. This crisis or crisis solution should not be mentioned in the analysed literature, even though it should be.
