Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá opisnými kauzativními konstrukcemi. Přesněji, soustředila jsem se na kauzativní slovesa make, cause, get, have a force ve spojení s psychosomatickými slovesy. To jsou slovesa, které zachycují vnější projev vnitřních stavů člověka, ale tyto stavy jsou těžce kontrolovatelné vůlí. V mé analýze jsou zahrnuta tato psychosomatické slovesa: cry, smile, shiver, tremble, sweat, weep, blink, bleed a hear. Výsledky mé analýzy se shodují s většinou názorů rozšířených o zmíněných kauzativních konstrukcích, ale také odporují některým z nich. Jmenovitě, má analýza ukázala, že kauzátor v kauzativních konstrukcích s make může být životný i neživotný. Kromě toho sémantický význam make ne vždy vyjadřuje donucení. Kauzativní sloveso cause je převážně spojeno s neživotným kauzátorem. Co se týče sémantiky, cause se liší od make v síle účinku, který tato kauzativní slovesa způsobují. Větší míra donucení se připisuje make než cause. Pokud jde o kauzativní sloveso get, kauzátor v těchto kauzativních konstrukcích je obyčejně životný. Analýza ukázala totéž u have. Na druhé straně, na rozdíl od have, kauzativní get vyjadřuje neochotu osoby vykonat činnost, ke které je nabádána. Kauzativní sloveso force zahrnuje největší míru donucení. V konstrukci je přítomno donucovaní na straně kauzátora i odpor na straně donucené osoby. Díky detailnímu opisu kauzátorů a sémantiky kauzativních sloves tato bakalářská práce pomáhá upevnit vědomí, že každá kauzativní konstrukce, která je projednávána v této práci, má svůj specifický okruh použití a že ve většině případů se tato kauzativní slovesa nemohou zaměnit.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with periphrastic causative constructions. More accurately, I have focused on the causative verbs make, cause, get, have and force in association with psychosomatic verbs. These are verbs which capture an outer demonstration of inner states of a human, but these states are hardly controllable by volition. In my analysis these psychosomatic verbs are included: cry, smile, shiver, tremble, sweat, weep, blink, bleed and hear. The results of my analysis correspond with most of the widely held views about causative constructions in question, but they also disagree with some of them. Namely, my analysis has shown that a causer in causative constructions with make can be both animate and inanimate. In addition, the semantic meaning of make does not always encompass coercion. The causative verb cause is mostly associated with an inanimate causer. In terms of semantics, cause differs from make in strength of an effect. A higher degree of coercion is attributed to make than to cause. As far as the causative verb get is concerned, a causer in these causative constructions is usually animate. The analysis has shown the same with have. On the other hand, get implies unwillingness of a causee to perform an activity which he/she is exhorted to, which have does not. The causative verb force captures the highest degree of coercion. Both coercion on the part of a causer and resistance on the part of a causee are present. Thanks to the detail description of causers and semantics of causative verbs, the bachelor thesis helps to strengthen awareness that each causative construction discussed in this thesis has its specific sphere of usage and that in the vast majority of cases these causative constructions are not interchangeable.
