Communication between teachers and children during kindergarten free play

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na komunikaci mezi učitelkami a dětmi v průběhu spontánní hry v mateřské škole a je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. Teoretická část je věnována vymezení a objasnění tematických oblastí souvisejících s výzkumným problémem. Jedná se především o komunikaci, strategické cíle předškolního vzdělávání, roli učitelek mateřské školy v procesu dětského rozvoje, význam spontánní hry a vývojové charakteristiky předškolních dětí. Empirická část obsahuje popis metodologických aspektů realizovaného výzkumného šetření a kvantitativní analýzu a interpretaci dat získaných využitím metody přímého strukturovaného pozorování. Hlavní pozornost práce je soustředěna na povahu iniciací, jimiž učitelky a děti vstupují do průběhu spontánní hry, povahu dětských reakcí, které následují po iniciacích učitelek, a jejich vzájemnou souvislost. Práce je zaměřena také na spojitost promluv s úrovní abstrakce, které je jejich prostřednictvím dosaženo.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis focuses on communication between teachers and children during free play in kindergarten, and is divided into theoretical and empirical parts, respectively. The theoretical part is devoted to description and explanation of thematic areas related to the research question. In particular, these include communication, strategic aims of preschool education, the role of kindergarten teachers in the process of child’s development, the importance of free play, and developmental characteristics of preschoolers. The empirical part contains a description of methodological aspects of the research, and a quantitative analysis and interpretation of the data obtained using the method of direct structured observation. The primary focal point of this thesis is the character of initiations by which teachers and children enter free play, the quality of children’s reactions, which follow after teachers’ initiations, and their mutual relationship. The thesis is also focused on the links within speech and the level of abstraction which is maintained as a result.
