Potencial Enlargment of the European Union

Abstract:

Práce popisuje možnosti dalšího rozšíření Evropské Unie. Bakalářská práce začíná historií Evropské Unie. Zakládajícími členy Evropského hospodářského společenství byly Francie, Západní Německo, Nizozemsko, Belgie, Itálie a Lucembursko. Hlavním tématem první kapitoly jsou jednotlivá rozšíření. V první fázi rozšiřování se EU rozšířila o Velkou Británii, Irsko a Dánsko. O osm let později nastala druhá fáze rozšiřování EU. V první části této fáze se EU rozšířila o Řecko a ve druhé části o Španělsko a Portugalsko. V roce 1995 proběhla třetí fráze rozšiřování. Do Unie vstoupily Finsko, Švédsko a Rakousko. V roce 2004 proběhlo největší rozšíření v historii Unie. Evropská Unie se rozšířila o deset států. O tři roky později přistoupilo Rumunsko a Bulharsko. Začátek druhé kapitoly je věnován Procesu stabilizace a přidružení. Jedna z podkapitol této kapitoly je věnována pouze Chorvatsku. Toto umístění si zasloužilo z důvodu svého očekávaného přístupu k EU v roce 2013. Konečná část druhé kapitoly je věnována Kandidátským a Potenciálním zemím EU. Poslední kapitola práce charakterizuje Evropskou Politiku Sousedství. Jsou zde vyjmenovány a popsány všechny státy, které se v této politice nachází. Poslední bod práce se zaměřuje na vztah mezi Evropskou Unií a Africkými státy, ve kterých proběhly nepokoje.

Abstract:

This thesis describes a potential enlargement of the European Union. The Bachelor thesis begins with the history of the European Union. The founding members of European Coal and Steal Community were France, West Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Luxembourg. The first chapter is dedicated to individual enlargements. In the first phase of enlargement the European Union was enlarged by Great Britain, Ireland and Denmark. Eight years later, there was the second phase of the EU enlargement. In this phase the EU was enlarged by Greece, Spain and Portugal. In 1995, there was the third phase of enlargement, when Finland, Sweden and Austria joined the EU. In 2004, there was the largest phase of the history of the EU. The European Union was extended by ten European countries. In 2007 Bulgaria and Romania also joined the EU. The first part of the second chapter is dedicated to The Stabilisation and Association Process. One of the subchapters is devoted to Croatia only. Croatia deserved its position because of the expected access to the EU in 2013. The final part of the second chapter is devoted to Candidate and Potential States of the EU. The final chapter characterizes the European Neighbourhood policy. All countries that belong to this policy are enumerated and described there. The final point focuses on the relationship between the European Union and African States, where the disturbances took place.
