The local movie theater as part of the local culture in the municipalities in the district Chomutov

Abstract:

Umění první poloviny dvacátého století je postupně obohacováno novým fenoménem – začíná éra filmu. Tak jak dochází k jeho technickému zdokonalování včetně promítací a zvukově reprodukční techniky, postupně se rozšiřuje síť kin, tedy zařízení, kde jsou filmy prezentovány pro veřejnost. Poměrně brzy přestávají být biografy výsadou velkých měst a již v předválečném období se stávají součástí infrastruktury i venkovských sídel. Poměrně výrazný rozkvět obecních kin pokračuje i v poválečném období, kdy se s knihovnami a mnohdy i s místními kulturními domy stávají kina významnými nositeli místní kultury. V devadesátých letech však dochází k hluboké krizi a naprostá většina venkovských kin zaniká. Není to však konec filmu, objevuje se nový kulturní fenomén – multikina, která se stávají centry specifické metropolitní kultury. Tato bakalářská práce se navrací k problematice obecních kin, přičemž se autorka zaměřila na příhraniční okres Chomutov. Cílem je vyhodnocení současného stavu existence těchto kulturních zařízení jak z pohledu realizovaných aktivit, právní subjektivity a zřizovatele, tak i výhledu fungování v budoucnosti.

Abstract:

The art of the first half of the twentieth century was gradually enriched by a new phenomenon: the era of film began. As its technical improvement continued including the projection and sound reproduction techniques, the network of cinemas – places where films were shown to the public – gradually expanded. Soon, cinemas were no longer the privilege of large cities and, in the pre-war period, they became part of infrastructure and rural settlements. The relatively strong growth of local cinemas continued in the post-war period, when they became important bearers of local culture accompanied by libraries and local cultural houses. In the 1990s, a deep crisis took place and the vast majority of rural cinemas disappeared. However, it was not the end of the film. Nowadays, there is a new cultural phenomenon - the multiplex movie theatres that became centres of specific metropolitan culture. This bachelor thesis returns to the issue of municipal cinemas, where the author focuses on the border region of Chomutov. The aim is to evaluate the current state of existence of these cultural facilities, both from the point of view of realized activities, legal subjectivity and founder, as well as the perspective of their functioning in the future.
