Opioid Management from the Perspective of the General Nurse

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá manipulaci s opioidy z pohledu všeobecné sestry. V teoretické části je popsána legislativa spojená s činností zdravotnických pracovníků, legislativa spjatá s návykovými látkami, do jejichž skupiny se řadí opioidy, jejich zacházení, dokumentace a opatření pro jejich uchovávání a likvidaci. Dále jsou pak popsány zásady podávání opioidů, edukace pacienta při podávání opioidů, rizika a nežádoucí účinky, sledování pacienta po podání opioidů a nežádoucím událostem při podáni opioidů. Empirická část obsahuje popis realizace průzkumu mezi všeobecnými sestrami. Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit úroveň znalostí, zkušeností a postojů všeobecných sester při manipulace s opioidy. Data byla získání online dotazníkovým šetřením. Průzkumný vzorek tvořilo celkem 90 všeobecných sester zaměstnaných na interním oddělení, ARO nebo v domácí péči. Po analýze získaných dat statistickými metodami byl průzkum prezentován a interpretován. V závěrečné části bakalářské práce se autorka věnovala doporučením pro praxi.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with Opioid Manipulation from a general nurse's perspective. The theoretical part describes the legislation related to the activities of health professionals, legislation related to addictive substances, which group includes opioids, their handling, documentation and measures for their storage and disposal. In addition, the principles of opioid administration, patient education during opioid administration, risks and side effects, patient monitoring after opioid administration and adverse events during opioid administration are described. The empirical section includes a description of the implementation of the survey among general nurses. The main aim of the thesis was to determine the level of knowledge, experience and attitudes of general nurses in handling opioids. The data was obtained through an online questionnaire survey. The survey sample consisted of a total of 90 general nurses employed in an internal medicine ward, ARO or home care. After analyzing the collected data using statistical methods, the survey was presented and interpreted. In the final part of the bachelor thesis, the author discussed recommendations for practice.
