Abstract:
This bachelor thesis is based upon translation of several chapters of 1757 Johann Friedrich Agricola‘s singing treatise. Agricola’s treatise is actually a widely enlarged version of an earlier treatise by Italian castrato and singing teacher Pier Francesco Tosi. Agricola in his work provides a valuable evidence of German and Italian musical performance practice, as well as essential aesthetic principles …more
