THE CZECH-GERMAN LINGUAL MIX IN THE HLUCIN REGION

Abstract:

This thesis has as theme multilingualism in the communities around Hlucin. The aims of this thesis are to evaluate the influence of German on the Hlucin regional dialect; to identify the differences in dialect expression which are influenced by the German language within given Hlucin area communities and then to map these differences cartographically; to outline the effects of the Slavic language on the Hlucin regional dialect; and to collect and document evidence of the Sudice and Trebom German dialects. The first part outlines the basis for research into the development of dialect in the German and Czech area. Attention will be devoted to the method of geographical-lingual mapping and map interpretation. The second part outlines the characteristic features of the Lassko dialect, but mainly involves a comparison of dialects through German influenced expressions within the Hlucin communities and their cartographical representation. It has been established that there are differences in the dialects within given Hlucin area communities, however the differences in German usage in the Hlucin dialect is not as prominent as one might assume and many terms are identical across the Hlucin community area. The differences between the dialect expressions are perhaps greater for Slavic words than for words of German origin. The final part of the work concerns the Sudice and Trebom local German dialects and the particular words which according to Alfred Divisch have a Slavic etymological root. It has been established that some of these words are in fact from a Germanic etymological root. As the Sudice dialect is slowly dieing out, the discovery of a fluent speaker of this dialect was very valuable and the possible inclusion of the Trebom dialect into further research may be worthwhile.

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je mísení jazyků na Hlučínsku. Práce si kladla za cíl poukázat na vliv německého jazyka na nářečí Hlučínska; určit rozdíly nářečních němčinou ovlivněných výrazů v jednotlivých obcích Hlučínska a zanést je do map; nastínit vliv slovanských jazyků na německé nářečí používané v obcích Sudice a Třebom a objevit doklad tohoto německého nářečí. V první části jsou objasněny základní otázky dialektologického průzkumu a jeho vývoj na českém a německém území. Pozornost je věnována metodice jazykové geografie, podrobně je zde popsán proces mapování a interpretace map. Druhá část obsahuje základní znaky lašského nářečí, ale hlavně srovnání nářečních němčinou ovlivněných výrazů jednotlivých obcí Hlučinska a jejich znázornění na mapách. Bylo zjištěno, že se mezi jednotlivými obcemi v těchto výrazech opravdu nachází rozdíly, avšak nejsou tak markantní, jak se předpokládalo, mnoho pojmů je na celém Hlučínsku identických. Z toho vyplývá, že bychom diference zřejmě spíše objevili u výrazů, které nebyly ovlivněny germanismy. Poslední část práce je věnována obcím Sudice a Třebom a místnímu německému nářečí. U výrazů, které byly v slovníku Alfréda Divische označeny jako slovanského původu, byl určen jejich etymologický vývoj a bylo zjištěno, že některá z těcho slov mají svůj původ v němčině. Protože se Sudické nářečí pomalu vytrácí, bylo objevení i jediné osoby, která toto nářečí ještě ovládá, velmi cenné a nahrávka tohoto nářečí snad poslouží dalšímu výzkumu.
