Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vývojem vnímání konceptu prostoru a místa se zaměřením na období moderny a postmoderny a ve druhé části také problematikou postmoderního zobrazení prostoru a místa ve vybraných povídkách brněnského spisovatele Jiřího Kratochvila. Popisuje historický vývoj vnímání konceptu prostoru v socio-kulturních, historických, literárních a uměleckých souvislostech a věnuje se zejména období přelomu devatenáctého a dvacátého století (moderny) a období po druhé světové válce (postmoderny). Poznatky o charakteristice a vnímání prostoru v postmoderně jsou poté aplikovány při analýze vybraných povídek brněnského spisovatele Jiřího Kratochvila, který je kritiky označován za postmoderního spisovatele, ale také se k postmoderně sám hlásí. Tato diplomová práce ukazuje, jakým způsobem je koncept prostoru a místa v těchto povídkách zobrazen a jak velkou funkci zastává v samotné konstrukci narativu.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the perception of the concept of space and place, focusing especially on the modernist and postmodernist period; the second part of the thesis is dedicated to the issues of postmodern representation of space and place in selected short stories by Jiří Kratochvil, an author from Brno. The thesis describes the historical development of the perception of the space and place concepts in socio-cultural, historical, literary and art contexts and focuses particularly on the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century – the period of modernism, and the historical period after World War II. – postmodernism. The findings about the characteristics and perception of space and place in the postmodern period are then applied to the analysis of selected short stories by Jiří Kratochvil, whom literary critics (and himself) label as a postmodern author. This thesis shows how is the concept of space and place represented in these stories and how important a function it has for the narrative construction.
