Práce se skládá z části teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část se zabývá životem Adama Smitha, prostředím, ze kterého pocházel a vlivem, který měl na své následovníky. Rozebírají se v ní také tři období českého prostředí, v nichž překlady vznikaly, stejně jako předmluvy těchto tří českých vydání. The dissertation consists of two parts, the first being a theoretical one, the other a practical one. The theoretical part is concerned with the life of Adam Smith, his background and the influence that he had upon his descendants.
