Analysis of a futsal match as a communication event with a focus on the analysis of selected non-verbal aspects of the game

Abstract:

Ve své diplomové práci jsem se zaměřil na výzkum neverbálních signálů při futsalovém utkání, kde probíhá celá řada neverbálních gest. Verbální komunikace je také v mnoho případech velmi zdlouhavá a někdy dokonce zcela znemožněna. Já jsem se ve své práci zaměřil na výzkum oslavných gest jakožto neverbální komunikace a zkoumal jsem, jaké komunikační významy mají pronášená gesta. Vybral jsem si dva týmy - jeden z první futsalové ligy a druhý z druhé futsalové ligy. Z každého týmu jsem si vybral tři hráče, které jsem podrobil komplexní analýze komunikační události. Analýza probíhala z videí a fotografií, které zachycovali neverbální prostředky, kterými hráči slavili své góly. Velká část byla zaměřena především na gestiku, která je při podobném typu analýzy nejvíce markantní. Nevynechal jsem však ani zajímavé postřehy z oblasti posturiky, haptiky mimiky. Po analýze materiálu každého hráče jsem s nimi udělal polostrukturované rozhovory, abych zkonfrontoval nasbíraný materiál s tím, co mi sdělili hráči. Cílem bylo zjistit, zda mají gólové oslavy nějaký zamýšlený komunikační záměr a jaké významy jim hráči z hlediska komunikace připisují. Výsledky od jednotlivých hráčů jsem porovnal navzájem a snažil jsem se je generalizovat v rámci jednoho týmu, a poté výsledky porovnat mezi oběma týmy.

Abstract:

During a futsal match, there are a number of non-verbal gestures. Whether between the players themselves, who often have difficulty communicating because they cannot hear each other over the noise of the spectators, or in the case of communication between the coach and the players, when similar problems with the spoken word occur. Verbal communication is also very lengthy in many cases and can be detrimental in the fast-paced game that is futsal. Due to these circumstances, players make use of various non-verbal signals, in most cases meaningful gestures, which in most cases are of the nature of communicating and conveying information. In the game that is futsal, various in-game signals are also very often used, where communication is quite crucial. In this case, emblematic gestures come into play - players use their fingers to show the number under which the signal the team is about to play is hidden. This is done during autos, corner kicks and standard situations. Therefore, the basic prerequisite for success is good non-verbal communication and the ability to associate the correct action to a given gesture (emblem, signal), or the knowledge of one's action when gesticulating. Apart from signals, communication during the act of acting itself could also be analysed. In this case, the gestures regulate the action on the playing field, using signals to let teammates know where to stand, whether to speed up or slow down the game, etc. The most varied gestures and, from the point of view of analysis, the most interesting gestures, which can have different intentions and reception, take place during goal celebrations or after a goal has been scored.
