The psychology of childbirth

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem mé diplomové práce je Psychologie porodu a výzkum, který se tohoto tématu týká. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V úvodu teoretické části nemůže chybět osvětlení momentu oplození a následný prenatální vývoj. Dále následují kapitoly o samotném průběhu porodu, o porodních možnostech v současnosti a dostupných porodních polohách. Šestá kapitola vychází z obecných definicí bolesti, přičemž se dále specifikuje na bolest porodní a možnosti jejich tlumení. Celá teoretická část je uzavřena oddílem, který se týká přítomnosti otce nebo jiné blízké osoby u porodu. Praktická část vyplývá z výsledků výzkumu, který byl proveden mezi rodičkami, které vyplnily krátký dotazník týkající se jejich posledního prožitého porodu ? konkrétně přítomnosti blízké osoby u porodu, užití prostředků tlumících porodní bolesti, možnosti uplatnění relaxačních technik v první době porodní, přístupu lékařského personálu k rodičce atd. Získaná data jsou přehledně zpracována pomocí tabulek, grafů a stručných analýz výsledků.

Abstract:

The main focus of my dissertation piece of work will be the psychology of childbirth and its related research. This piece of work will present theoretical as well as practical part. At the beginning of the theoretical part there will be a light throw on the matter of the moment of fertilization, followed by pre-natal development. Then the main focus will move on to chapters about the whole process of a delivery, delivery options in recent years and available delivery positions. Chapter 6 will be concerned with the general definitions of pain, in particular with delivery pain and its available options for suppression. The whole theoretical part will be concluded by focusing on the possible presence of father or alternatively other family or close relative member. The practical part follows from results of research that has been done by using questionnaire based study, where mothers filled in a questionnaire that was concerned with their last child delivery - in particular the presence of a close relative, the use of a medical help to suppress delivery pain, the possibility of the use of relaxation techniques in the first period of pregnancy, the approach of medical staff to mothers in the period of delivery. At last, the gained data are clearly presented and processed in tables, graphs and brief analysis of results.
