Danube pollution, impacts on the Black Sea

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá stavem veletoku Dunaj z hlediska znečištění vody. Dunaj je druhá nejdelší řeka v Evropě a protéká deseti státy. Jeho významné přítoky pramení v několika dalších zemích. Každý stát znečišťuje Dunaj a jeho povodí různými zdroji a v jiné intenzitě. Zapříčiňuje to mnoho faktorů, avšak jeden z nejvýznamnějších je ekonomický rozvoj. Vliv antropogenní činnosti na řeku se velice odráží v kvalitě vodního prostředí, což má také neblahé dopady na Černé moře. Vysoký obsah dusíku a fosforu způsobuje eutrofizaci, která narušuje celý vodní ekosystém Dunaje. Následně je také narušen ekosystém Černého moře, který se mimo jiné s touto problematikou rovněž potýká. Hlavním cílem této práce bylo analyzovat problematiku na základě odborné literatury v první části a část druhá se soustředí na znečištění řeky Dunaj v jednotlivých rozmezích let. Také vytyčuje státy, které mají největší podíl na tomto znečištění. Po porovnání hodnot, které byly vyhodnoceny z odběrů vod ze všech států, je prezentován stav Dunaje v procentuálním zastoupení v závěru. Stav znečištění Dunaje se ve většině případů zlepšil. Velké znečišťování způsobují především státy dolního a středního toku Dunaje.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the state of the Danube River in terms of water pollution. The Danube is the second longest river in Europe and flows through ten states. Its major tributaries rise in several other countries. Each state pollutes the Danube and its basin with different sources and in different intensity. This is due to many factors but one of the most significant is economic development. The influence of anthropogenic activity on the river is highly reflected in the quality of the aquatic environment which also has a negative impact on the Black Sea. The high nitrogen and phosphorus content causes eutrophication which disrupts the entire Danube water ecosystem. Subsequently, the Black Sea ecosystem is also disturbed which is also facing this issue. The main aim of this thesis was to analyze the issue on the basis of literature in the first part and the second part focuses on the pollution of the river Danube in different ranges of years. It also sets out states that have the greatest share of this pollution. After comparing values that were evaluated from water abstraction from all the states, the state of the Danube is presented in percentage at the end. The pollution status of the Danube has improved in most cases. High pollution is mainly caused by the lower and middle Danube states.
