The Role of Internal Audit in the Process of Business Management

Abstract:

Většinu podnikových procesů provázejí nejrůznější hrozby. K eliminaci těchto hrozeb je možné používat interní audit, který za pomoci nezávislé, objektivní, ujišťovací a konzultační činnosti se zaměřuje na přidávání hodnoty a zdokonalování procesů v organizaci a díky tomu slouží jako nástroj odhalující strategická rizika, kterým se každý podnik snaží předcházet. Cílem práce bude provedení interního auditu, který ověřuje konkrétní aktivity vybraného podniku a nabízí praktickou nápravu odhalených zjištění. K metodickému naplnění tohoto zadání dochází provedením literární rešerše oborového poznání, provedením interního auditu na základě získaných informací za použití metod náhodného výběru, pozorování a interview. Takto provedený interní audit se bude ujišťovat o úspěšné implementaci SOX kontrol pokrývající všechna možná rizika v této oblasti a správném fungování těchto kontrol. Na výsledná zjištění tak budou navrhnuta určitá doporučení, která by se jevila jako vhodná pro jejich vyřešení. Lze tak konstatovat, že díky zjištěním, následným doporučením nápravných opatření, popřípadě i jejich uplatněním, lze interní audit brát jako účinný nástroj, který podniku dává určitou konkurenční výhodu v dnešním světě globalizace.

Abstract:

The most of business processes are surrounded with the variety of threats. For the elimination of these threats it is possible to use internal audit which uses independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organization's operations and due to that it serves as a tool that reveals strategic risks which each company tries to prevent. The goal of this bachelor thesis will be realization of internal audit which verifies specific activities of a chosen company and offers practical remedy of the detections. To fulfill this task methodically literature research of professional theories will be used together with internal audit performed based on the gain information using audit methods like testing of random data, observation and interview. This internal audit will be ensuring about successful implementation of SOX controls covering all possible risks in this area and correct functioning of these controls. Final detections will be tried to be solved by providing recommendations based on auditing methods mentioned above. It can be stated that thanks to all these detections, recommendation of remedial steps, or their possible usage, the internal audit can be taken as an effective tool which gives the company a competitive advantage in today's world of globalization.
