Formation of the image of the heretic templar initiation: Study on a selected source from spring 1310

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá fragmentem z vyšetřování templářů proběhlého na jaře roku 1310 v jihovýchodní Francii. Prostřednictvím analýz zaznamů vypovědí sleduje, jak probihala interakce (vyjednávání) mezi vyšetřovateli a vyšetřovanými. Argumentuje, že se obraz heretického obřadu ustavuje během soudního procesu jako výsledek této interakce. Líčení tohoto obřadu práce zasazuje do vrcholně a pozdně středověké tradice ličení podobných rituálů, pro něž používá pojem antirituál. Posuny v líčení antirituálu práce chápe jako oboustranně související se změnami procedur, vedoucích ke vzniku záznamů tato líčení obsahujících.

Abstract:

This work focuses on one particular collection of records of the interrogation of the Templars, which took place in spring 1310 in south-eastern France. The records are being analyzed as place of interaction (negotiation) between the investigators and the investigated. The text argues, that during the interrogatory, which is viewed as negotiation, an image of a heretical ritual - called anti-ritual in this work - is being estabilished. The work sees the narrative about the templar anti-ritual as a part of the high and late medieval tradition of such narratives. It argues that shifting structures of the narratives are in mutual relation with changing procedures of making records containing such narratives.
