Closing of books and company´s annual final accounts analysis

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce je zaměřena na provedení analýzy účetní uzávěrky a účetní závěrky společnosti Grandhotel Pupp Karlovy Vary, a.s., která podniká v oblasti hotelových, stravovacích a lázeňských služeb. Cílem diplomové práce je na teoretickém základě provést analýzu účetní uzávěrky, analýzu účetní závěrky a finanční analýzu společnosti a následně zhodnotit provedené analýzy a finanční situaci. Struktura diplomové práce je rozdělena do pěti části. V první části jsou teoreticky vymezeny veškeré skutečnosti týkající se účetní uzávěrky a závěrky, které jsou potřebné pro praktickou aplikaci. Dále je představena analyzovaná společnost a provedena SWOT analýza. Stěžejní oblastí praktické části je analýza účetní uzávěrky, účetní závěrky a finanční analýzy společnosti. Hlavními zdroji pro vypracování zmíněných analýz byly výroční zprávy společnosti za období 2010 až 2013 a interní informace od společnosti v podobě rozhovorů s vedoucím ekonomického úseku. V poslední části diplomové práce jsou zhodnoceny provedené analýzy a uvedeny návrhy opatření ve vybraných a problémových oblastech. Příkladem může být uvedeno opatření u krátkodobých pohledávek, které společnost eviduje v poměrně vysoké výši. Dochází ke vzniku problému včasného splácení pohledávek a porušování obchodní úvěrové politiky. Navrženým řešením je zpřísnění obchodní úvěrové politiky s určitou benevolencí pro největší odběratele a následně podrobný monitoring pohledávek, stanovení úvěrových limitů a ratingů pro jednotlivé odběratele, zejména z řad cestovních kanceláří a agentur.

Abstract:

The thesis aims to analyze the closing of books and final accounts of the Grandhotel Pupp Karlovy Vary, a.s. company. This company operates in hotel, catering and spa services. The goal of the thesis is to analyze the closing of books and final accounts of the company based on a theoretical approach and evaluate the analyses and the financial situation of the company. The thesis consists of five main parts. In the first part we determine the theoretical foundations of the closing of books and final accounts that are needed for the practical application. In the next part, we present the company analysis and the SWOT analysis of the company. The main area of the practical part is the analysis of the closing of books and final accounts and the company financial analysis. Among the main sources of the thesis were the annual reports of the company from years 2010 to 2013 and the company internal information received from the CFO. In the last part of the thesis we evaluate the analyses and offer measures in selected problematic areas. An example of this may be the measure for short-term requisitions that the company faces quite often. This leads to missing due dates of requisitions and violation of the company credit policy. The suggested measure to solve this issue is stricter credit policy with benevolence to the largest customers, detailed monitoring of the requisitions, setting credit limits and customer ratings, especially for travel agencies.
