Support of natural childbirth in midwifery practice

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem přirozeného porodu. Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce bylo zjistit četnost použití jednotlivých metod podporující přirozený průběh porodu. V teoretické části se zabýváme definicí termínu "přirozený porod", ale také "porod" obecně i jeho různými formami. Dále v teoretické části rozebíráme jednotlivé metody, díky nimž se ženy mohou na přirozený porod připravovat a to jak během těhotenství, tak během samotného porodu. Praktická část byla realizována formou kvantitativního výzkumu. Byl vytvořen nestandardizovaný dotazník a online distribuován mezi různé skupiny matek. Dotazníkové šetření zodpovídá nejen hlavní cíl této práce, ale také další dílčí cíle, které byly stanoveny na začátku výzkumu. Z výsledků vyplývá, že většina žen se na svůj porod připravuje, ale velká většina z respondentek uvedla, že by se příště připravovala víc, nebo využila jiné metody. Z výzkumu také vyplývá, že většina respondentek by si přála změnit nemocniční péči nebo jim něco u jejich porodu chybělo. Zdravotníkům proto doporučujeme více dbát na přání žen a reagovat na jejich poptávky.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of natural childbirth. The main objective of this bachelor thesis was to determine the usability of various methods supporting the natural course of childbirth. In the theoretical part, we focus on defining the term "natural childbirth," as well as "childbirth" in general and its various forms. Furthermore, in the theo- retical part, we analyze individual methods through which women can prepare for natural childbirth, both during pregnancy and during labor itself. The practical part was conducted in the form of quantitative research. An unstandardized questionnaire was created and dis- tributed online among various groups of mothers. The questionnaire survey addresses not only the main objective of this thesis but also other specific objectives that were set at the beginning of the research. The results indicate that the majority of women prepare for their childbirth, but a large majority of respondents stated that they would prepare more next time or use different methods. The research also suggests that most respondents would like to change hospital care or felt that something was missing during their childbirth. Therefore, we recommend healthcare professionals to pay more attention to women's preferences and respond to their demands.
