Abstract:
Nádorové buňky vykazují výrazné změny v glykosylaci buněčného povrchu v důsledku dysregulovaných glykosyltransferáz a glykosidáz. Zvýšení exprese určitých sialylovaných glykanů je prominentním rysem mnoha transformovaných buněk. Tyto změny často vedou k vyšší invazivitě nádorových buněk a horší prognóze. Tumor cells are characterized by altered glycosylation on the cell surface via dysregulated glycosyltransferases and glycosidases. Higher expression of sialylated glycans is a prominent marker of transformed cells. These changes are often associated with increased invasiveness of cancer cells and poor prognosis.
