The personalities of Pilsen cultural life - Ladislav Sutnar and his legacy in contemporary Pilsen

Abstract:

Tématem mé bakalářské práce bylo vytvořit soubor, jež bude zpřehledňovat Sutnarovo dílo, které tvořil na Plzeňsku. Primárním obsahem je analýza toho, jak takovou významnou osobu, jakou Sutnar je, uctíváme v Plzni a v Česku dnes. Závěr práce tvoří detailnější popis postupů a hledání cesty k tomu, jak ho uctívat a součástí jsou i převratné události, kulturní a umělecké akce s tím spojené. Také je zde charakterizován přelomový projekt Návrat Ladislava Sutnara, jež vznikl na popud děkana fakulty umění a designu doc. Josefa Mištery a následné spolupráce Radoslava Sutnara. V neposlední řadě je zde zmínka o jednom z nejdůležitějších projektů zrealizovaném v roce 2015, kterým bylo Plzeň Evropské hlavní město kultury. Snahou projektu Návrat Ladislava Sutnara bylo a je navrácení takového génia, jakým Sutnar bezpochyby byl zpět do rodného města i národa, který na něj převážně díky bývalému režimu zapomněl.

Abstract:

The theme of my bachelor's thesis was to create a set that would clarify Sutnar's work, which he was creating in Pilsen. The primary content is an analysis of how we revere such a significant person as Sutnar in Pilsen and Czech Republic today. The conclusion of the work consists of a more detailed description of the procedures and finding a way to worship it and the revolutionary events, cultural and artistic events associated with it are also part of it. It also features the groundbreaking project The Return of Ladislav Sutnar, which was created at the instigation of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design doc. Josef Mištera and the subsequent collaboration with Radoslav Sutnar. Last but not least, there is a reference to one of the most important projects implemented in 2015, which was the European Capital of Culture. The effort of The Return of Ladislav Sutnar project was, and is, the return of the kind of genius that Sutnar doubtless was back to his hometown and a nation that largely forgot him thanks to the former regime.
