Teacher's Conception of Children's Rights in Primary Education

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce zjišťuje názory učitelů na práva dítěte v primární edukaci. Cílem je identifikovat, jak učitelé vnímají práva dětí a jejich uplatňování v primární edukaci a jaký je názor učitelů na to, zda participace žáků může vést ke zkvalitnění výuky. V první části se věnuji vysvětlení teoretických východisek k dané problematice. Praktická část představuje výzkumné šetření, které tvoří expertní posudek k právním dokumentům a polostrukturované rozhovory s učiteli. Výzkumným vzorkem je pět učitelů základních škol. V závěru kvalitativního výzkumu jsou výsledky, které formulují vztahy zkoumaných učitelů k právům dítěte v primární edukaci a názory učitelů na uplatnění participace žáků.

Abstract:

This thesis investigace teachers' views on children's rights in primary education. The aim is to identify teachers' perceptions of children's rights and their implementation in primary education and teachers' views on whether pupil participation can lead to improvement in teaching. In the first part I explain the theoretical background to the issue. The practical part is a research investigation consisting of expert opinion on legal documents and semi-structured interviews with teachers. The research sample is comprises five primary school teachers. The final part of the qualitative research presents results which formulate the attitudes of the studied teachers to the rights of the child in primary education and the teachers' views on pupil participation.
