Emotions in the language of German and Czech online versions of the premium and tabloid newspaper. An analysis on the example of the Olympic games in London 2012 and Sochi 2014.

Abstract:

The aim of this Master thesis is to analyse the emotions in the language of sports reports from four selected Czech and German online newspaper. The analysis should help to answer the following questions: - How do express the Czech and German journalists the emotions in the sports reports? - Are there any differences between expressions of the emotions in the Czech and German sports reports? - Which are differences between expressions of the emotions in the premium and tabloid newspaper? In the theoretical of this thesis is the connection of the language with emotions, definitions of the emotions, the ways how to express the emotions in the written language and characteristics of online newspaper presented. In the practical part of this thesis are sixteen selected articles from the Czech and German online newspaper analysed and compared. In the conclusion, the thesis argues that the differences in the expression of emotions between the Czech and German sport reports from online newspaper relatively small are. It is also confirmed that in the tabloid newspaper can be find more expressions of emotions than in premium newspaper.

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je analýza emocionality v jazyce sportovních článků z vybraných českých a německých online verzí novin. Tato analýza by měla pomoci zodpovědět následující otázky: - Jak vyjadřují čeští a němečtí žurnalisté emocionalitu ve sportovních článcích? - Jaké existují rozdíly ve vyjádření emocionality mezi českými a německými sportovními články? - Jaké jsou rozdíly ve vyjádření emocionality v seriózních a bulvárních novinách? V teoretické části této práce bude popsán vztah jazyka a emocí, definován pojem emoce, prezentovány způsoby vyjádření emocionality v psaném jazyce a charakterizovány vlastnosti online verzí novin. V empirické části této práce bude provedena analýza a interlinguální porovnání vybraných šestnácti článků z českých a německých online verzí novin. V závěrečné části je po zhodnocení výsledků stanoveno, že rozdíly ve vyjádření emocionality v českých a německých sportovních článcích jsou relativně malé. Je také potvrzeno, že v bulvárních novinách je emocionalita vyjadřována častěji než v seriózních novinách.
