Analysis of the situation of workers over fifty years on the labor market of the Czech Republic in 2007-2017

Abstract:

Vzhledem k současnému a budoucímu demografickému vývoji a s ním souvisejícímu celoevropskému problému stárnutí populace, se mění význam starších osob na trhu práce. Z důvodu měnící se věkové struktury populace a rostoucího poměru starších osob narůstá zátěž dopadající na osoby v produktivním věku. Udržení a větší zapojení starších osob do pracovního procesu se tak stává nezbytností. Cílem diplomové práce je analýza postavení osob starších padesáti let na trhu práce v České republice a zároveň srovnání stávající situace se zeměmi Evropské unie. Dílčím cílem práce je navrhnutí možných řešení, která by pomohla postavení starších pracovníků na trhu práce zlepšit. Teoretická část práce se zabývá charakteristikou trhu práce, specifikací starších pracovníků, problémem stárnutí a možnými nástroji určenými ke zlepšení situace starších pracovníků na trhu práce. Praktická část práce se věnuje demografické situaci v České republice a zejména analýze jednotlivých ukazatelů trhu práce se zaměřením na starší osoby, včetně porovnání s členskými zeměmi Evropské unie. Provedená analýza a komparace dokazuje, že postavení České republiky v rámci Evropské unie je v oblasti postavení starších osob na trhu práce na dobré úrovni. Avšak i zde existují určité oblasti, na které je potřeba se do budoucna zaměřit jako jsou například flexibilní formy práce či účast dospělých osob na vzdělávání

Abstract:

According to the current and future demographic evolution and related pan-european problem of demographic ageing, the role of older people in the labor market is changing. Due to changes in the age structure of population and the increasing proportion of older people, the burden is increasing for people of working age. Increasing the involvement of older people into the working process becomes a necessity. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the position of older persons older than fifty years in the labor market of the Czech Republic and to compare the current situation with countries of the European Union. The partial aim of this thesis is also to propose possible solutions that would help to improve the position of older workers in the labor market. The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of the labor market, the specification of older workers, the problem of aging and possible tools designed to improve the situation of older workers in the labor market. The practical part of this thesis deals with the demographic situation in the Czech Republic and especially with the analysis of labor market indicators focusing on the elderly, including comparison with the countries of the European Union. The analysis and comparison proved that the position of older people in the Czech Republic within the European Union is on a good level. However, there are some areas that need to be improved in the future, such as flexible forms of work or participation in education of adults.
