Comparison of the financial health among selected companies in the healthcare industry

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je pomocí metod finanční analýzy zhodnotit silné a slabé stránky finančního zdraví soukromé polikliniky ABC, s. r. o., výsledky komparovat s výsledky analýzy soukromé polikliniky XYZ, a. s. a následně navrhnout doporučení, jak optimalizovat hospodaření poliklinik v případě zjištění slabých stránek finančního zdraví. V obou případech si majitelé těchto poliklinik přejí neuvádět název firem. V první části práce je pozornost zaměřena na teorii finanční analýzy, jakožto na uživatele, informační zdroje a metody finanční analýzy. V druhé části práce je pozornost zaměřena na představení poliklinik a porovnání jejich finančního zdraví pomocí metod popsaných v první části, na základě dostupných informací z účetních výkazů poliklinik za období 2017-2021. Na základě provedené analýzy lze konstatovat, že finančně stabilnější poliklinika je ABC, s. r. o. Ukazatele zadluženosti polikliniky XYZ, a. s. jsou zkresleny z důvodu změny vlastního kapitálu. Oběma poliklinikám je doporučena restrukturalizace svých zdrojů financování s ohledem na větší využití vlastních zdrojů financování.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to use the methods of financial analysis to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the financial health of the private polyclinic ABC, s. r. o., to compare the results of the analysis with the results of the analysis of the private polyclinic XYZ, a. s. and subsequently to propose recommendations on how to optimize the polyclinic's economy in case of the identified weaknesses of financial health. In both cases, the owners of these polyclinics wish to keep the name of the companies confidential. In the first part of the thesis, the attention is focused on the theory of financial analysis, as the users, sources of information and methods of financial analysis. In the second part, the attention is focused on presenting the polyclinics and comparing their financial health using the methods presented in the first part, based on the available information from the polyclinics' financial reports during the period 2017-2021. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the more financially stable polyclinic is the polyclinic ABC, s. r. o. The ratios of the polyclinic XYZ, a. s. are distorted due the change in equity. Both of the polyclinics are recommended to restructure their sources of funding in order to make greater use of their own sources of funding.
