Old age and Alzheimer´s disease: the position of valetudinarians in the society and social proscription

Abstract:

Práce je věnována stáří a Alzheimerově chorobě, atroficko-degenerativní demenci, která je nejčastějším typem demencí vůbec. V práci jsou popsány změny, které se pojí se stářím a s Alzheimerovou chorobou. Diagnostika nemoci a možnosti její terapie. Postavení nemocných a seniorů ve společnosti je popsáno z historické perspektivy. Je zde nastíněna současná situace v České republice. V práci je popsána rodina se členem s Alzheimerovou chorobou, fenomén prarodičovství v ní a možnosti péče o člověka s Alzheimerovou chorobou v rámci rodiny i mimo ni.

Abstract:

Old age and Alzheimer?s disease are the subjects of my bachelor´s work.There is description of an old age, social, cognitive and physical changes in old age. Alzheimer?s disease is a progressive and degenerative brain disorder, it is the most common form of dementia. The work is devoted to causes of disease, its progression, diagnosis and its therapy are devoted here.In bachelor?s work, there are described status of seniors and mentally handicapped people in the society, and their position in society in history. There is also discribed current situation in the Czech Republic.The work is devoted to a family, its member with Alzheimer?s disease and possible care in the family and the care out of the family.
