Overtourism in Czech Republic

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je zmonitorovat a definovat overturismus na území České republiky za pomocí dvou měřících metod a zjistit zda jím jsou oblasti České republiky skutečně zasaženy. Měření a podrobná analýza overturismu tvoří jádro této diplomové práce. První měřící metoda se specializuje na identifikování hrozby overturismu ve městech České republiky, jako hlavních oblastí, kde se tento jev může objevit. Druhá metoda navazuje na výsledky z první metody. Tato metoda je založena na komunikaci s osobami, které mají vliv na řízení cestovního ruchu ve městech, kde byla identifikována hrozba overturismu. Druhá metoda je nástrojem, který může podpořit výsledky z prvního měření a také poukázat na faktory, které mohou zvyšovat potenciál výskytu overturismu. Kromě měst, jsou zde identifikovány také přírodní oblasti, ve kterých se objevují problémy spojené s overturismem. Závěr této diplomové práce předkládá možná řešení overturismu na území České republiky, které se skládají v efektivním řízení marketingového managementu destinace. Tyto návrhy jsou doplněné o důležitost brandingu a tvorby image v regionech České republiky s cílem zvýšit potenciál a konkurenceschopnost jednotlivých regionů v cestovním ruchu a celoplošného rozmístění především zahraničních turistů, kteří overturismus mohou způsobovat a tak předejít tomuto negativnímu jevu cestovního ruchu.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to monitor and define overtourism in the territory of the Czech Republic using two measurement methods and to determine whether areas of the Czech Republic are actually affected by it. Measurements and detailed analysis of overtourism form the core of this thesis. The first measurement method specialises in identifying the threat of overtourism in the cities of the Czech Republic, as the main areas where this phenomenon may occur. The second method follows the results from the first method. This method is based on communication with persons who influence tourism management in cities where the threat of overtourism has been identified. The second method is a tool that can support results from the first measurement and also highlight factors that may increase the potential for overtourism to occur. In addition to cities, natural areas are also identified here with problems associated with overtourism. The conclusion of this thesis presents possible overtourism solutions in the Czech Republic, which consist of effective marketing management of the destination. These proposals are complemented by the importance of branding and image creation in regions of the Czech Republic in order to increase the potential and competitiveness of individual regions in tourism and the areawide deployment of mainly foreign tourists who can cause overtourism and thus prevent this negative phenomenon of tourism.
