Hlavním cílem práce je zachytit vznik a formování Evropské měnové unie, společně s výhledem na další vývoj. Dále pak rozebrat příčiny současné krize eura. The main purpose of the diploma thesis is to chart the origin and the formation of the European Monetary union and concurrently the view of further development. In the next part of the thesis are analyzed the causes of the current euro crisis. In addition there is dealed with the euro adoption in the Czech Republic.
