Analysis of the offer of schools in the field of leisure activities with a focus on informatics and digital technologies

Abstract:

Předložená bakalářská práce prezentuje výzkum volnočasových aktivit pro děti a mládež se zaměřením na informatiku a digitální technologie v Karlovarském kraji. V teoretické části jsou konceptualizovány základní pojmy (volný čas, volnočasové aktivity). Ve výzkumné části autor volí výzkumnou strategii, kterou je obsahová analýza webových stran zkoumaných institucí, doplněná e-mailovým dotazováním. Zjištěné údaje srovnává a komentuje. Ze získaných dat vyplývá, že jen necelá pětina základních škol nabízí kroužky nebo realizuje projekty se zaměřením na informatiku a digitální technologie. Nejméně jeden, ale častěji i více kroužků s tímto zaměřením, nabízí deset z patnácti domů dětí a mládeže. Řada škol a domů dětí a mládeže vzájemně spolupracují, proto školy nenabízejí vlastní kroužky. Největší zájem je v současné době o robotiku, 3D tisk a audiovizuální dovednosti (foto, video, zpracování materiálů). Školy nabízejí kroužky zaměřené na více oborů, z nichž jedním je informatika nebo digitální technologie, domy dětí a mládeže mají kroužky zaměřené na konkrétní oblast. Ačkoliv mají kroužky stejné nebo podobné názvy, jejich náplň se v jednotlivých zařízeních liší. Zejména školy jsou limitovány nedostatečným technickým vybavením a nedostatkem odborných lektorů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis presents the research of leisure activities for children and youth with a focus on informatics and digital technologies in the Karlovy Vary region. In the theoretical parts there are conceptualized the basic terms (leisure time, leisure activities). In the research part the author chooses a research strategy which is the content analysis of the websites of the researched institutions, supplemented by e-mail inquiries. The obtained data are compared and commented on. The obtained data show that less than a fifth of primary schools offer clubs or implement projects focusing on informatics and digital technologies. At least one but more often even more clubs are offered by ten out of fifteen Children and Youth Centres. Many schools and Children and Youth Centres cooperate and therefore schools do not offer their own clubs. The biggest interest is currently in robotics, 3D printing and audio-visual skills (photo, video, materials processing). Schools offer clubs focused on multiple disciplines, where one of them is computer science or digital technology, and Children and Youth Centres have clubs focused on specific areas. Even though the clubs have the same or similar names, their content differs. In particular, schools are limited by insufficient technical equipment and insufficient professional lecturers.
