Value orientation and interpersonal behaviour of hospice staff

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá hodnotovou orientací, interpersonálním chováním a životní spokojeností pracovníků hospiců ve srovnání s pracovníky odlišných míst. Teoretická část je zaměřena na hospicovou péči a pracovníky hospiců, hodnoty a typologii hodnotové orientace a interpersonální chování a jeho typologii. Cílem našeho výzkumu bylo vnést vhled do problematiky hodnot, interpersonálního chování a životní spokojenosti pracovníků hospiců ve srovnání s nehospicovými pracovníky. Preferenci hodnot jsme zjišťovali pomocí Rokeachova Testu hierarchie hodnot. Zjistili jsme, že pracovníci hospiců preferují prosociálně orientované hodnoty (prospěšný, zdvořilý, shovívavý, poslušný) více než nehospicoví pracovníci. Interpersonální chování jsme měřili pomocí Dotazníku interpersonální diagnózy autorů Learyho, La Forga a Suczeka. Bylo zjištěno, že pracovníci hospiců se chovají afiliativněji v porovnání s pracovníky odlišných míst. Životní spokojenost byla měřena pomocí Škály životní spokojenosti autorů Pavota a Dienera. Rozdíl mezi životní spokojeností pracovníků hospiců a nehospicových pracovníků se neprokázal. Nebyl zjištěn vztah mezi afiliací a životní spokojeností. Výsledky jsou na závěr podrobněji diskutovány.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the value orientation, interpersonal behaviour, and life satisfaction of the hospice staff, compared with the people of different proffesion. The theoretical part is focused on the hospice care and the hospice staff, and the value and typology of value orientation and interpersonal behaviour and typology of interpersonal behaviour. The aim of our research was to bring insight into the values, interpersonal behaviour and life satisfaction of the hospice staff, compared with non-hospice workers. We investigated the preference of values using the Rokeach Value Survey. We found that the hospice staff prefer prosocially oriented values (helpful, polite, forgiving, obedient) more than non-hospice workers. Interpersonal behaviour was measured using the Interpersonal Check List by Leary, La Forge and Suczek. It was found that in interpersonal behaviour of the hospice staff is more affiliation compared with the people of different profession. Life satisfaction was measured using the Satisfaction With Life Scale by Pavot and Diener. The difference between life satisfaction of the hospice staff and non-hospice staff wasn´t proved. There wasn´t relationship between affiliation and life satisfaction. Results are discussed in detail in the conclusion.
