Post-operative complications after tonsillectomy from perspective of a nurse

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývala pooperačními komplikacemi po tonzilektomii. V teoretické části byla popsána základní anatomie krční mandle a její nejčastější onemocnění. V práci byl popsán operační výkon tonzilektomie, včetně indikací, kontraindikací, provedení výkonu, a především komplikací vyskytujících se po tonzilektomii. Druhá část teoretické práce byla věnována ošetřovatelské péči o pacienta po tonzilektomii. Empirická část byla zpracována pomocí dvou na sobě nezávislých kvantitativních výzkumů. První část výzkumu se zaměřovala na znalosti všeobecných sester v péči o pacienta po tonzilektomii a na jejich znalosti o komplikacích po tonzilektomii. V druhé části výzkumu byl proveden retrospektivní popis výsledků léčebné péče o pacienty po tonzilektomii mezi roky 2013 a 2015 na jednom pracovišti ORL.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis dealt with postoperative complications after tonsillectomy. The theoretical part describes the basic anatomy of the tonsils and its most common diseases. The work described the operation of tonsillectomy, including indications, contraindications, performance, and especially complications occurring after tonsillectomy. The second part of the theoretical work was devoted to nursing care of the patient after tonsillectomy. The empirical part was processed using two independent quantitative research. The first part of the research focused on the knowledge of nurses in care after tonsillectomy and on their knowledge of complications after tonsillectomy. In the second part of the research, a retrospective description of the results of medical care after tonsillectomy between 2013 and 2015 at one ENT department was performed.
