Intergenerational learning in leisure centres and children and youth centres

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem mezigeneračního učení, které probíhá prostřednictvím mezigeneračních kurzů nebo akcí v centrech volného času a domech dětí a mládeže. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části – teoretickou a empirickou. Teoretická část se věnuje dvěma hlavním tématům. Prvním tématem je mezigenerační učení v různých kontextech (rodina, komunita, pracoviště). V každém prostředí je také popsáno, jak v něm mohou být jednotlivé generace přínosné. Druhým tématem je volný čas, kde je definováno také zájmové vzdělávání a popsána náplň práce volnočasových center a domů dětí a mládeže. Poslední kapitola se věnuje požadavkům a charakteristikám pedagogických pracovníků v těchto organizacích. Empirická část seznamuje s výsledky výzkumu, který se snažil zjistit, jaký význam má mezigenerační učení pro účastníky těchto kurzů a akcí, ale také pro organizátory těchto aktivit, tedy pro pedagogické pracovníky v těchto organizacích a co jim tato mezigenerační interakce přináší.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of intergenerational learning which takes place through intergenerational courses or events in leisure centres and children and youth centres. The thesis is divided into two parts – the theoretical and empirical one. The theoretical part deals with two main topics. The first topic is intergenerational learning in different contexts (family, community and workplace). It is also described there how the single generations can be beneficial in each surroundings. The other topic is leisure time, where leisure education is also defined and the content of work of leisure centres and children and youth centres is described. The last chapter deals with the requirements and characteristics of the educators working in these organizations. The empirical part presents the results of research which tried to find what importance intergenerational learning has not only to the participants of these courses and events, but also to the organizers of these activities, namely to the educators in these organizations, and what this intergenerational interaction brings to them.
