This thesis introduces and defines complex event processing - CEP. It introduces its context in data processing software. V tejto práci je predstavené a definované komplexné spracovanie udalostí – CEP, je zaradený ho do kontextu súčasného softvéru pre spracovanie dát. Sú rozobrané základné koncepty a vlastnosti platforiem, ktoré ho podporujú. Práca predstavuje servisné systémy ako nástroj pre podporu vývoja CEP aplikácií.
