The Occupational therapy of visually impaired seniors by using of elements of the biography

Abstract:

Pro svou bakalářskou práci jsem si zvolila téma Ergoterapie seniorů se zrakovým s využitím prvků biografie. Teoretická část je věnována rekapitulaci současných poznatků o zrakovém a kognitivním postižení seniorů. Závěr této části tvoří pět ošetřovatelských konceptů vycházejících z biografie klienta. Úvodní kapitoly speciální části zahrnují ergoterapeutické postupy a kompenzační pomůcky aplikované u osob se zrakovým postižením a kognitivním deficitem. Druhá polovina speciální části pojednává o využití prvků biografie v ergoterapeutické intervenci, včetně výčtu příslušných metod a komunikačních přístupů. Praktickou část tvoří dvě kazuistiky klientů se zrakovým postižením a kognitivním deficitem. Obě kazuistiky obsahují vstupní vyšetření a ergoterapeutické plány. Ergoterapeutické přístupy jsou rozčleněny na ADL a IADL, ergoterapii kondiční a funkční, ve kterých se komplementárně uplatňují biografické prvky.

Abstract:

As a topic of my Bachelor's Thesis I have chosen "The Occupational Therapy of the Visually Impaired Elderly People with the Use of Features of Biography". The theoretical part is dedicated to recapitulation of current knowledge of visual and cognitive impairment of elderly people. The conclusion of this part is composed of five nursing concepts originating in the biography of the client. The introductory chapters of the special part include techniques of occupational therapy and compensatory aids applied with people suffering from visual impairment and cognitive deficiency. The second half of the special part deals with the use of the features of biography within the occupational therapeutic intervention, including the enumeration of corresponding methods and communication approaches. The practical part incorporates two case histories of clients suffering from visual impairment and cognitive deficiency. Both case histories contain initial check-up and plans for occupational therapy. Occupational therapeutic approaches are classified into ADL and IADL, fitness and functional occupational therapy, where the biographical features are complementarily employed.
