Effect of reminiscence therapy on quality of life of older people in residential facilities

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje problematice využití reminiscence u seniorů v pobytovém zaízení Charitní dům sv. Alžběty. Je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoreická část se věnuje paměti, změnám kognitivních funkcí, demenci a poruchám paměti, pro jejichž léčbu je reminiscenční terapie využívána. Dále nás seznamuje s pojmy reminiscence, reminiscenční terapie, reminiscenční terapeut, memory box atd. Je zde popsán původ, přínos a podstata reminiscenční terapie. Informuje nás ve zkratce o pojmu kvalita života seniorů v pobytových zařízeních. Definuje pobytové zařízení podle zákona 108/2006 Sb. a blíže nás seznamuje se zařízením Charitní dům sv. Alžběty a programem reminiscenční terapie v tomto zařízení. Část práce je zaměřena na kvalitu života a její současný stav v České republice. V praktické části je pomocí dotazníkového šetření ověřován vliv reminiscenční terapie na kvalitu života seniorů pobývajících v Charitním domě sv. Alžběty.

Abstract:

Thesis is devoted to the use of reminiscence therapy for seniors in a residental facility Charity House of St. Elizabeth. It is divided into theoretical and practical part. The teoretical part is dedicated to memory, ganges in cognitive function, dementia and memory impairment for which the treatment is reminiscence therapy used . Furthemore it acquaints us with concepts reminiscence, reminiscence therapy, reminiscence therapist, memory box etc. Here is described the origin , nature and benefits of reminiscence therapy . Informs us in brief about the concept of quality of life of seniors in residential facilities. Defines a residential facility pursuant to Act No. 108/2006 Coll. and closer acquaints us with the equipment Charity House of St. Elizabeth. and reminiscence therapy program at this facility . Part of the work is focused on quality of life and its current status in the Czech Republic. The practical part through a questionnaire survey of the effects of reminiscence therapy on quality of life of older people living in the Charity House of St. Elizabeth.
