The application of Maria Montessori education in practice of special elementary schools

Abstract:

Hlavní myšlenkou této diplomové práce je zpracování návrhů didaktických řešení s některými pomůckami Montessori a realizace těchto návrhů při výchově a vzdělávání žáků s různým druhem postižení ve speciálních základních školách. Práce obsahuje teoretickou a praktickou část. Úvodní část tvoří teoretické východisko, jejímž námětem jsou základní informace o životě a díle Marie Montessori, pedagogika Marie Montessori, základní principy a pomůcky Marie Montessori. Dále je tato část zaměřena na vývoj pedagogiky Marie Montessori v České republice a v ostatních zemích. Věnuje se také charakteristice různých druhů postižení u dětí, jenž navštěvují rehabilitační třídu speciální základní školy. Praktická část diplomové práce obsahuje návrhy didaktických řešení s pomůckami Montessori v jednotlivých oblastech této pedagogiky. Zároveň posuzuje efektivitu uskutečněných návrhů a vhodnost zařazení u dětí s jednotlivými druhy postižení. V diplomové práci byl dále vytvořen didaktický materiál a pracovní listy, které lze použít v předmětech rehabilitační třídy speciální základní školy.

Abstract:

The main idea of this final thesis is to process the proposals of didactic methods with some Montessori tools and the realization of these methods within the educational process with pupils of different kind of disablement in Special Elementary School. This work contais of theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part I focuse on the basic information about the life and work of Maria Montessori, on Montessori pedagogy and lastly on the basic principles and tools of Montessori. In this part I am also concerned with the development of Montessori education in the world and the Czech Republic. The definitions of different kinds of disablement found in our rehabilitative classe are described. The practical part contains the proposals of didactic methods with the Montessori tools in particular areas of this pedagogy. In this section the efficiency of realized methods is assessed to learn whether the concept was appropriate with the specific pupil or not. In the thesis the didactic material and worksheets were created to use directly in teaching in the classes of our Special Elementary School.
