Democracy and its prospects in developing countries
Abstract:
Diplomová práce zkoumá perspektivy demokracie v rozvojových zemích. V první části se zabývá pojmem demokracie, způsoby jejího měření a podmínkami jejího vzniku. Druhá část přibližuje demokratizační procesy v průběhu dvacátého století. Další kapitoly nastiňují situaci ve třech rozvojových kontinentech - Latinské Americe, Africe a Asii. Závěrečná část shrnuje perspektivy demokracie současného světa.
Abstract:
The diploma thesis examines prospects of democracy in developing countries. The first part deals with the notion democracy, ways of its measuring and its conditions. The second part introduces democratization processes during the twentieth century. Next chapters outline contemporary situation in three developing continents -- Latin America, Africa and Asia.
