Field Recording as a Creative Medium in the Production of Michal Kindernay

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se bude zabývat fenoménem field recordingu a jeho využitím v umělecké tvorbě. Jejím hlavním cílem pak bude popsat tvorbu umělce a kurátora Michala Kindernaye jako jednoho z představitelů tvůrců na poli české umělecké scény,který chápe terénní nahrávky jako médium pro další kreativní užití. Jeho tvorbu se pak práce pokusí zařadit do kontextu světové a především české umělecké scény. Skrze reflexi jeho děl bude hledat východiska, formální postupy a principy charakteristické pro tvorbu field recordingu v českém prostředí a poskytne srovnání s principy a koncepty v evropském kontextu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis will deal with the phenomenon of field recording and its use in creation of art. Its main goal will be to describe the work of the artist and curator Michal Kindernay, as one of the representatives of the creators in the field of the Czech art scene, who understands field recordings as a medium for further creative use. The thesis will then try to place Kindernay's work in the context of the international and especially the Czech art scene. Through the reflection of his works, it will look for starting points, formal procedures and principles characteristic for the creation of field recording in the Czech environment and will provide a comparison with the principles and concepts in the European context.
