Women s Representation in Prague regional politics

Abstract:

Problematika zastoupení žen v politice na regionální úrovni a reprezentace ženských zájmů není ve společnosti považováno za problém. Naopak se lze setkat s názorem, že tento problém se naší politické scény netýká a že v podstatě žádný „ženský problém“ neexistuje. Bakalářská práce se zabývá přítomností žen v regionální politice, konkrétně se jedná o region hl. m. Praha, neboť toto téma zatím nebylo dostatečně probádáno. Předchozí práce o problematice nízkého zastoupení žen v politice se zpravidla věnovaly tomuto tématu na jiných úrovních fungování politiky nebo v jiných regionech. Práce je zasazena do širšího rámce teoretických modelů bariér, se kterými se ženy potýkají při vstupu do politiky, ale i v průběhu výkonu politiky a někdy dokonce bývají důvodem odchodu žen z politické scény. Práce se rovněž zabývala hodnocením voleb do zastupitelstev krajů, konkrétně do zastupitelstva hl. m. Prahy. Dále se předkládaná práce zabývá neziskovým sektorem a jeho vlivem na politické aktéry a veřejnost, tím, jak se daří těmto organizacím prosazovat ženy do politiky. Poslední část bakalářské práce je věnována výzkumu, jehož účelem bylo ověření teoreticky vymezených bariér.

Abstract:

The issue of representation of women in politics at the regional level and the representation of women in society is not considered in issue. On the contrary, we can find with the view that this issue does not affect our political scene, and that virtually no ”women's issue“ does not exist. Bachelor's thesis deals with the presence of women in regional policy, particularly as regards the region of the capital Prague since this topic has not yet been sufficiently investigated. Previous works on the issue of low representation of women in politics are usually devoted this issue to other levels of the policy, or in other regions. The work is set in a broader framework of theoretical models of the barriers that women face in entering into politics, but also in the course of carrying out policy and sometimes even tend to justify leaving women in the political arena. This work also deals with the evaluation of the elections to the District Councilors, namely in the council od the capital Prague. Furthermore, the present work deals with the non-profit sector and its influence on political actors and the public about how to manage these organizations to promote women in politics. The last part of thesis is devoted to research, its purpose was to verify the theory defined barriers.
