Reflecting process in psychotherapy through reflecting person's eyes

Abstract:

Práce je jednou ze tří studií, které si společně kladou za cíl prozkoumat využití reflektujícího týmu v psychoterapeutické praxi. První dvě studie (Detersová, 2014; Ukropová, 2014) se zaměřily na perspektivy klientů a terapeutů, tato práce prozkoumává pohled účastníka reflektujícího týmu. Reflektující tým je nejprve teoreticky zasazen do kontextu dialogického a spolupracujícího přístupu v psychoterapii a poté uchopen jako dialogický prostor. Jádrem práce je autoetnografická studie inspirovaná pojetím autoetnografie jako asambláže, která se zabývá dlouhodobou zkušeností autora s účastí v reflektujících týmech. Analytický text se prolíná s citacemi a úryvky výzkumného deníku, samotný akt psaní je pojat jako součást metodologického postupu. Autor si klade otázku po povaze vlastní zkušenosti a nabízí odpověď především v rovině vnitřního dialogu reflektujícího během psychoterapeutické konzultace. Rozlišuje několik momentů vnitřního dialogu: zkoumání, učení se, prozkoumávání, oceňování, nejistota, dilemata ohledně srozumitelnosti a sebeodhalování. Autor také reflektuje kontext, ve kterém se s reflektováním setkává, a nakonec se zabývá otázkou významu těchto zkušeností v procesu stávání se terapeutem. Diskuse kriticky hodnotí možnosti autoetnografického postupu jako takového, především se zabývá vztahem píšícího subjektu k textu. Psaní autoetnografie je nakonec uchopeno jako akt sebe-tvorby.

Abstract:

The present paper is one of the three studies that together aim to explore the use of reflecting teams in psy-chotherapeutic practice. First two studies (Detersová, 2014; Ukropová, 2014) focused on the perspectives of clients and therapists. This study scrutinizes the view of the reflecting team member. Reflecting team is first theoretically anchored into the context of dialogical and collaborative approaches to psychotherapy and then conceived as a dialogical space. The core of this work is the autoethnography inspired by the conception of autoethnography as an assemblage which deals with the author´s long-term experience of taking part in reflecting teams. Analytical text is being entwined with the citations and passages from the research diary. The act of writing itself is perceived as a part of the methodological procedure. The author states a question about the nature of his own experience. The offered answer concerns mostly the realm of reflecting team member’s inner dialogue during a psychotherapy consultation. The author distinguishes several moments of such inner dialogue: inquiry, learning, exploring, appreciating, uncertainty, dilemmas considering comprehensiveness and self-disclosure. The author also reflects context of his experience of reflecting and finally deals with the question of this experience’s significance in the process of becoming a psychother-apist. The discussion is evaluates the possibilities of autoethnography as such while dealing mainly with the relation of the "writing subject" to the text. The writing of autoethnography is eventually captured as an act of self-creation.
