Integration into the Czech Society from the Immigrant's Perspective

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou integrace azylantů do české společnosti z pohledu azylantů samotných. První kapitola teoretické části diplomové práce se okrajově zabývá migrací, následně se věnuje teorii integrace se zaměřením na její kulturní, sociálně-ekonomickou a občansko-politickou dimenzi. Další kapitoly teoretické části se již konkrétně vztahují k České republice a jejím imigračním a integračním politikám. Podrobněji dochází k analýze azylové politiky ČR a procesů, kterými procházejí žadatelé o azyl. Největší pozornost je pak věnována Státnímu integračnímu programu, jeho proklamované roli při začleňování azylantů do společnosti a vlivu nestátních neziskových organizací na jejich integraci. Na základě rozhovorů s azylanty, kteří momentálně žijí v integračních azylových střediscích, či těmi, kteří již tato střediska opustili, dochází ke kritickému zhodnocení Státního integračního programu, celkovému zhodnocení přístupu státu k integraci azylantů, a také k ověření modelů integrace a multikulturalismu s ohledem na zkušenosti azylantů v České republice.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on issues concerning social integration of subjects who have been granted political asylum in Czech Republic. First chapter of the thesis deals with migration and integration theory where main aim is to somehow describe its cultural, social-economic and civil-political dimension. Other chapters of the theoretical part apply to particular immigration and integrating policies in Czech Republic. In these chapters the analysis of Czech political asylum policy and asylum proceedings is made from the point of view of the asylum-seekers. Main focus is dedicated to State Integration Programme and it´s role in integrating the ones who have been granted political asylum into society. Also the impact of non-state and non-profit organizations on process of integration is analysed. The work of State Integration Programme has been criticaly evalutaed. This evaluation is based on outcomes aquired from interview with people who have been granted political asylum and the ones who live in Integration Asylum Centres or with the ones who allready left those Centers. Also the state attitude about integration of people who have been granted asylum is researched and models of multi-cultural integration in connection with experiences of these people in Czech Republic are verified.
