Quality of life in patients with migraine

Abstract:

Migréna patří mezi primární bolesti hlavy. Toto onemocnění postihuje nezanedbatelnou část populace, v dospělém věku více žen než mužů. Migréna neohrožuje život pacientů, může jej však značně znepříjemnit tím, že záchvat neočekávaně omezí všechny běžné denní aktivity. Definice typů migrény je uvedena v klasifikaci podle IHS (International Headache Society). Vypracováním práce kvalita života s migrénou, jsem zjistila, jak migréna výrazně ovlivňuje kvalitu života lidí s tímto onemocněním. Migréna se nejčastěji projevuje ve středním věku, tomu také odpovídá doba léčby migrény. Dále jsem zjistila, i přesto že migréna významně ovlivňuje životy lidí, tak jsou si nemocní schopni upravit své prostředí, tak aby jejich kvalita života byla na úrovni. Pro sběr dat jsem použila dva dotazníky. První dotazník je využíván v neurologických ambulancích s názvem HIT-6, který je určen pro subjektivní zjištění dotazovaných, jak závažná je jejich bolest hlavy a co pro to mohou udělat. Druhý dotazník použitý v této práci je standardizovaný dotazník kvality života podle WHO, který se zaměřuje na kvalitu života respondentů s daným problémem. Dotazníkové šetření proběhlo ve dvou různých neurologických ambulancích v Karlových varech, kdy bylo rozdáno celkem 110 dotazníků. Do každé ambulance bylo podáno 55 dotazníků na dobu čtyř měsíců. Po době čtyř měsíců byla návratnost dotazníku 100%. Avšak deset dotazníku jsem musela vyřadit z důvodu nesprávného vyplnění.

Abstract:

Migrein is one of the primary headaches disease. This disease affects a significant part of the population, in the adult age. Women suffer more often than men. Migraine does not endanger the lives of patients, but can be very uncomfortable. Migraine attack unexpectedly reduces all usual daytime activities. The definition of migraine types is listed in the HIS (Internacional Headache Society). By elaborating bachelor thesis quality of life with migraine, I found out how migraine significantly affects the quality of life of people with this disease. Migraine is most common in middle age, and this is also the time for migraine treatment. I also found that even though migraine significantly affects people's lives, patients are able to adjust their neighbourhood so that their quality of life is at high level. I used two questionnaires to collect the data. The first questionnaire is used in of neurological outpatients clinic called HIT-6, which is designed for subjective finding out how serious their headaches are and what they can do. The second questionnaire used in this work is a standardized WHO Quality of Life Questionnaire which focuses on the quality of life of respondents with a problem. The questionnaire survey was conducted in two different neurological outpatient clinics in Karlovy Vary, where a total of 110 questionnaires were distributed. Every ambulance was 55 questionnaires were submitted for a period of four months.vAfter four months, the return on the questionnaire was 100%. But the ten questionnaire I had to exclude because of incorrect answers.
