Processing of a Rescue Archaeological Excavation of a Settlement from the Early Roman and La Tène Cultures in Sudice

Abstract:

Cílem práce je zpracovat a vyhodnotit výsledky záchranného archeologického výzkumu sídliště z doby římské a doby laténské, který provedl v době od 4. 5. do 26. 6. 2021 na katastrálním území Sudice Archeologický ústav AV ČR, Brno, v. v. i. V rámci práce budou analyzovány a zhodnoceny všechny (laténské a římské) archeologické nálezy (keramika, kovové předměty apod.), a to na základě relevantních analogií ze soudobých lokalit Horního Slezska a blízkého okolí. Provede se kresebná a fotografická dokumentace materiálu, včetně jejího soupisu. Součástí práce budou standardní kapitoly o přírodních podmínkách na katastru Sudic, historii bádání o době laténské a římské ve Slezsku a stručný historický vývoj obce od nejstaršího období až po počátek středověku. Výsledkem práce bude datace a kulturní zařazení (laténská kultura, převorská kultura) zkoumaných situací na podkladě archeologických nálezů a zařazení sídliště do kontextu osídlení českého Slezska v době laténská a době římské.

Abstract:

The target of the thesis is to process and evaluate the results of the rescue archaeological research of the Roman and Latin Age settlement, which was carried out between 4 May and 26 June 2021 in the cadastral area of Sudice by the Institute of Archaeology of the CAS, Brno, v. v. i. All archaeological finds (ceramics, metal objects, etc.) will be analysed and evaluated within the framework of the work, based on relevant analogies from contemporary sites in Upper Silesia and the surrounding area. Drawing and photographic documentation of the material, including its inventory, will be carried out. The thesis will include standard chapters on the natural conditions in the Sudice cadastre, the history of research on the La Téne and Roman periods in Silesia, and a brief historical development of the village from the earliest period to the beginning of the Middle Ages. The thesis will result in the dating and cultural classification (Latenian culture, Priory culture) of the investigated situations on the basis of archaeological findings and the classification of the settlement in the context of the settlement of Bohemian Silesia in the Latenian and Roman periods.
