Effect of silvicultural measures on the growth of young birch (Betula pendula Roth) stand in the conditions of the Training Forest Enterprise "Masarykův les" Křtiny

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem odlišných výchovných opatření na vývoj mladého březového porostu, lokalizovaném na ŠLP Křtiny. Způsoby výchovy byly rozděleny na: pozitivní (individuální) zásah, negativní (celoplošný) zásah, kontrolní (bezzásahové) plochy a vyvětvené stromy. Na základě nashromážděných dat z let 2019–2021, byla porovnávána hustota porostu, přirozená mortalita dřevin, relativní výška nasazení koruny, výškový a tloušťkový přírůst. Zjistilo se, že výchovné zásahy měly pozitivní vliv na vývoj koruny stromů. Stromy po provedení výchovného zásahu nedosahovaly výších hodnot relativního výškového přírůstu než stromy kontrolní plochy. Nejvyšších hodnot průměrného tloušťkového přírůstu dosahovaly vzorníky na variantě pozitivního výchovného zásahu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis compares the influence of different silvicultural measures on the development of a young birch stand, located at ŠLP Křtiny. The methods of education were divided into: positive (individual) thinning, negative (allover) thinning, control (non-intervention) area and pruned trees. Based on the data collected in the years 2019–2021, the density of the stand, the natural mortality of woody plants, the relative height of the crown, the height and thickness increase were compared. It was found that the tending interventions had a positive effect on the development of the tree crown. The trees did not reach higher values of relative height increase after the tending intervention than the trees of the control area. The highest values of mean thickness increment were reached by sample trees on the variant of positive tending intervention.
