The history and present of Afghanistan from the point of view of security

Abstract:

The Present Thesis examines Afghanistan from the perspective of history, in terms of current period and possible future development. The main focus of the thesis is to highlight and take a closer look at security in the country. The thesis is divided into 3 consecutive chapters. The first chapter focuses on the history of the country, in particular on the invasions and conflicts that have affected the security situation in Afghanistan in the past. Next, we look at the emergence and rise to power of the Taliban movement and the influences of international actors on previous events in the country. The second chapter focuses on the current security and political situation under Taliban rule and the impacts on the Afghan population. The last chapter discusses perspectives and recommendations for Afghanistan while at same time emphasizing the need for support from the international community.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca skúma Afganistan z pohľadu historického, súčasného obdobia a možného budúceho vývoja. Hlavným zameraním práce je poukázať a bližšie priblížiť bezpečnosť v tejto krajine. Práca je rozčlenená do 3 na seba nadväzujúcich kapitol. V prvej kapitole sa sústreďujeme na históriu krajiny, predovšetkým pozornosť upriamujeme na invázie a konflikty, ktoré v minulosti ovplyvnili bezpečnostnú situáciu v Afganistane. Ďalej sa zaoberáme vznikom a vzostupom moci hnutia Taliban a vplyvmi medzinárodných aktéroch na predchádzajúce udalosti v krajine. Druhá kapitola sa zameriava na momentálnu bezpečnostnú a politickú situáciu pod nadvládou Talibanu a dopady na afganské obyvateľstvo. V poslednej kapitole sa zaoberáme perspektívami a odporúčaniami pre Afganistan a zároveň kladieme dôraz na nevyhnutnosť podpory zo strany medzinárodného spoločenstva.
