Death penalty in the Czechoslovak and Czech legal order

Abstract:

Jako téma své bakalářské práce jsem si vybrala Trest smrti v Československém a Českém právním řádu. Z mého pohledu se jedná o téma, na které je možno nahlížet různým způsobem. Jak ze stránky lidské, tak morální a samozřejmě právní. A zároveň téma trestu smrti přineslo ve své historii spoustu polemiky. Ve své práci bych se chtěla zabývat příčinami vzniku, historií, druhy trestů a smyslem ukládání trestu smrti. Z hlediska historie se bych se chtěla zaměřit na trest smrti v Československu v letech 1918- 1990, kdy byl zrušen. Ráda bych řešila otázku Trest smrti- ano nebo ne? Cílem mé bakalářské práce je poukázat na aspekty smyslu udělení trestu smrti z hlediska prospěšnosti společnosti, ve které žijeme.

Abstract:

I chose the death penalty in the Czechoslovak and Czech legal order as the topic of my bachelor thesis. From my point of view, this is a subject that can be viewed in different ways; both human and moral and, of course, legal. At the same time, the subject of the death penalty has brought much controversy in its history. In my thesis I would like to address the causes, history, types of penalties and the purpose of imposing the death penalty. In terms of history, I would like to focus on the death penalty in Czechoslovakia between 1918-1990,when it was abolished. I would like to address the question of the death penalty - yes or no? The aim of my bachelor thesis is to highlight the aspects of the meaning of the death penalty in terms of the benefits to the society in which we live.
