The Dissociation of a Change of Location and the Manner of its Execution
Abstract:
Tato diplomová práce představuje rozbor konstrukce nazvané VVingPP, která sestává z pohybového slovesa následovaného slovesem v progresivním tvaru a směrového doplňku. Analýza je založená na korpusových příkladech, jejichž zdroji jsou Britský národní korpus a Korpus současné americké angličtiny.
Abstract:
The Diploma Thesis presents a corpus analysis of a construction called VVingPP construction. This construction consists of a motion verb followed by a verb in progressive form and a directional complement. The examples which were used to illustrate the typical patterns occurring within this construction were taken from the British National Corpus and the Corpus of Contemporary American English.
