School bullying in the context of moral cognition

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje tématu školní šikany v souvislostech morálního myšlení. V teoretické části je několik kapitol věnováno problematice definování šikany, vymezení základních pojmů a také charakteristice hlavních typů a forem šikany a možných rolí aktérů šikany. Následuje shrnutí vybraných poznatků na poli výzkumu faktorů ovlivňujících vznik a průběh šikanování a to v různých oblastech. Tato část je uzavřena kapitolou o morálním a vývojovém aspektu šikany a přehledem výzkumů v této oblasti. V praktické části práce jsou popsány metody a postupy použité při výzkumu, který zahrnoval analýzu volných odpovědí respondentů v dotazníku a následné statistické zpracování dat. Dále byly výsledky zachycující míru a stav informovanosti, množství a druhu osobních zkušeností se šikanou a způsob jakým hodnotí situaci šikanování, v čem vidí příčiny jejího vzniku, jaké charakteristiky připisují oběti šikany a jaké navrhují řešení situace porovnány v rámci tří skupin respondentů (rodičů, studentů gymnázia a studentů střední školy řemesel a služeb). V diskusi jsou pak uvedeny návrhy pro další výzkum a možnosti využití získaných informací v praxi.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with school bullying in the context of moral cognition. In the theoretical part there are a few chapters focussed on difficulties in defining of bulling and explanation of the basic terms as so as characterisation of the main types and forms of bullying and the possible roles of those involved in bullying. Next there is a summary of results of some studies dealing with the causations of factors which are influencing the beginning and process of bullying. There are several levels of those causations. Finally there is a chapter about moral and developmental aspect of bullying and again results of some studies in this area. In the empirical part there is a description of methods and the procedures used in research included analysis of open answers in questionnaires and its processing using statistic methods. The results shows sources of information, the number and kind of personal experience with bullying and a way of how do respondents evaluate the situation of bullying, where do they find the causes of its initiation and which characteristics do they ascribe to the victim and what solution do they suggest. Data was compared to find potential differences among three groups of participants (parents, students of grammar school and students of secondary school of handcrafts and services). In discussion there are some suggests for the following research as so as for the application in praxes.
