Principles of Bayesian data analysis

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářske práce je popsat základní metody bayesovské analýzy dat. V jednotlivých kapitolách se pojednává o volbě priorního rozdělení, výpočtu posteriorního rozdělení pomocí Bayesova vzorce a porovnávání jednotlivých modelů. Podrobněji jsou rozebírány případy pro data pocházející z binomického, Poissonova a normálního rozdělení. Poslední kapitola aplikuje vybudovanou teorii na konkrétní příklady a metody řešení porovnává s klasickým přístupem.

Abstract:

The purpose of this thesis is to describe the principal methods of Bayesian data analysis. The chapters deal with the choice of prior distribution, calculation of posterior distribution using Bayes theorem and comparing various models. The cases of the data from the binomial, Poisson and normal distribution are discussed in more detail. The last chapter applies the theory to concrete examples and compares the methods with the frequentist approach.
