Design of Information System for Citibank

Abstract:

The diploma thesis work presents a detailed analysis of a company operating in financial and banking sphere – Citibank. The business processes of the customer service group of the organisation were studied in particular. During the analysis of the enterprise, various information models were built that reflect the activities of both the department and the company as a whole. Subsequently, some disadvantages in the work process of the customer service department were identified. Based on the findings, the task was set to design an information system to eliminate the bottlenecks. Using the ARIS methodology, an organizational structure, “AS-IS” and “TO-BE” models were created describing the chosen business process. Additionally, models showcasing the structure of the proposed information system were built. As a result of the work, a prototype of an information system was suggested. In order to financially justify the possible implementation of the proposed system, the economic efficiency was calculated. Eventually, it was concluded that the introduction of the information system would benefit the current business processes of the customer service group of Citibank and the potential implementation of the system is justified for the company.
