The contribution of brownfields revitalization and reconversion to meet the objectives of regional development in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

V diplomové práci se zabývám přínosem revitalizace a rekonverze brownfieldů v České republice. Revitalizace a rekonverze brownfieldů představuje nejen v evropských zemích vážný a naléhavý environmentální problém se značnými dopady do ekonomické, politické i společenské oblasti jednotlivých zemí, regionů i obcí. Cílem práce je definovat pojem brownfield, popsat orgány zabývající se touto problematikou, definovat operační programy, které pomáhají snižovat vysoký počet brownfieldů v České republice, a nastínit postup při žádosti o dotaci ze strukturálních fondů Evropské unie. Druhým cílem je charakterizovat postup při vybírání vhodné lokality s ohledem na strategii udržitelného rozvoje, cíle regionální politiky v regionech České republiky a cíle regionální politiky Evropské unie. Třetím cílem je pokus nastínit, co veřejná správa České republiky dělá pro malé a střední podnikatele. A konečně čtvrtým cílem je uvést v diplomové práci některé uskutečněné projekty revitalizace a rekonverze brownfieldů u nás a jejich budoucnost.

Abstract:

In my Diploma thesis I deal with the contribution of brownfields revitalisation and reconversion in the Czech Republic. Brownfields and their reconversion and revitalisation present not only in the European countries serious and acute environmental problem with extensive impacts on the economic, political and social areas of individual countries, regions and municipalities. The first goal of my dissertation is to define the term „brownfield“, describe authorities dealing with brownfield problems, define operating programmes which are helping to decline high number of brownfields in the Czech Republic and sketch out the procedure at plea for (government) grant from the structural funds of European Union. The second target is to characterize the procedure on selection of a suitable locality with respect to strategy of sustainable development, goals of regional policy in the regions of the Czech Republic, and goals of regional policy in European Union. The third is endeavour to show what public sector of the Czech Republic does for the enterpreneurial sector. And finally, the fourth goal specifies some of the carried projects of brownfields revitalisation and reconversion in the Czech Republic and their future.
